Bajoran Secession Bill Delayed
IC Date: Sun Apr 17 2405
PARIS, EARTH (INW) -- The Bajoran secession bill has been sent back to committee after the Bajoran council delegation surprisingly made the recommendation early this morning. When asked for comment, the public affairs office indicated that a priority message had been received from Lishan Noryl, First Minister and Kai of Bajor, asking them to cease discussion until he could meet with them.
Political analysts have reported that the bill, now on the floor for several days, was close to being rejected because of the rigidity of the language with which it was written. It is unknown whether Lishan has different plans for a redraft of the bill.
The First Minister Lishan is expected to arrive on Earth later this afternoon where he will convene with the Bajoran council delegation.
