Consequences of a White Lie (RP Log)
- Vrillak's Finest Clothiers [Deep Space 9]
- The spacious interior of the shop is lit by soft, subdued lighting. Display cases containing ready-made wears run the length of the shop, creating a series of long, narrow aisles. Fitting rooms are located in the rear of the shop along with the tailor's workspace where custom items are made and alterations done. A pair of comfortable-looking chairs sit near the front counter which features a register and credit scanner. When the proprietor isn't making clothing items, he is usually to be found here, talking to potential customers and showing them samples of various materials.
The door leading to Backroom slides closed.
Vrillak emerges from his back room, a bolt of Katabban silk over one arm. He nods pleasantly to you. "Mr. Los," he says.
Los is walking in to the shop with an engineer toolbox and scanner in the other. As Vrillak steps out from the back room, the Betazoid gives him a warm smile "Ah, how are you Vrillak?" He inquires as the scanner beeps as he sweeps it slowly.
Vrillak says, "What are you looking for?"
"Each shop has a EPS conduit." Los says quietly, noting the face that he ignored his inquiry. He walks calmly to the panel "Yours is located here. After the incident of power loss, Engineering has been working to double check all taps and odn lines." He adds gently as he reaches for the panel.
Vrillak nods. "I see," Vrillak says, now sewing a pattern into the silk. "You and Remi are getting on well, I assume." It's more statement than question.
Los nods quietly as he removes the panel and security mesh around the conduit "Yes.. we've come to a realization we are Imzadi's.." He says softly, a fond smile crossing his lips as he speaks about Remi. "I'm.. sorry Vrillak that I messed things up before with you two. I .. well I was just trying to assist her with a problem." He tells him after finishing the scan and places the mesh and panel back in place. He has a serious look on his face "I mean it, I am truly sorry."
Vrillak shrugs. "Your naivete is to be expected up to a point. In any case it's irrelevant."
Los nods just slightly "At least talk to her, please?" He asks, but not pleading to the man. He settles the scanner in the box, eyes on him. Vrillak shrugs. "I already have," he says coldly.
A shrug is given by Los "Right. Well, your conduit is good." He says quietly, shifting and begins to walk out.
"Yes. It seems so. In any case, your naivete has hopefully taken some correction. You didn't know that Remi and I were a couple, did you." Again, it's not a question.
Los turns, looking to Vrillak "I somewhat did. Lieutenant Niian had asked if you two broke up when we.. well, did our white lie." He says softly, sighing
"Obviously." Vrillak's expression hasn't altered. "You have what you wanted."
A frown creases his lips "Actually, Vrillak, it was an accident. Remi and I were friends, barely knew one another when we tried to convince Inara that we were engaged. We did it only to get Inara to stop going after her constantly. Hell I could sense Remi's unease around Inara and could see how much Inara was trying to press." Los replies flatly. "Even after you two broke up, we only went to Bajor as friends. I was showing her everything about camping, kayaking and fishing." A shrug is given on that "We bonded and our feelings moved beyond friendship and into a relationship." There is a pause as he sighs "I would never intentionally break two people up. I'm sorry that things did not work between the two of you. I really am." He says sympathetically.
"Yes, and your stupidity, not to mention hers, was part of the reason." You can sense that Vrillak doesn't really care about your apology. You sense as you discuss the Niian business that he considers it one of the sloppiest pieces of deception he's heard of in a long time.
Los hmms quietly "Your probably right. It was sloppy. I'm not use to spy operations." He says softly and promptly leaves.
"That," Vrillak murmurs, "is apparent." He watches you go.
