Idledesting

Where No One Has Gone Before has adopted a 90 day idle period before a character is subject to being idle-toaded (idledested) by our automatic reaping process.

What does idle-toad mean? Idle-toad (or idledesting) means that due to the length of the period by which your character has been idle, we will remove that character from the database to save space and lag. We can't have players lying around unused forever, unfortunately. Also, we do not accept vacation requests, as 90 days is usually a period of time long enough to cover most 2 week vacations. Any period of time beyond 90 days by which you are idle must be purged so other active players may use that space. It is recommended you save your player descriptions and setting offline for the purpose of restoration should you wish to return to the game.

As in real life, certain people have a larger affect on the world than others. When you couple this with the faster timeline in the IC world of WNOHGB, an important character who is idle for 90 days and idledested has literally missed out on a year and a half of the experience and knowledge of his or her life. Due to the gaps that idle characters create within the game, they often necessitate being replaced, or having plots set up to explain their extended absences. Any character more than 45 days idle is eligible to be replaced within their Org or Suborg, at the discretion of the Org administrators.

A warning of idledesting will be emailed to you after 45 days of idle time. This is the only warning you'll receive, and the second notification is to inform you of the character's removal from the db.
