In-Game History
The Karemma were rumored to be the Gamma Quadrant's most lucrative trading species in late 2406 after they negotiated trade with a Ferengi named Pek. Many races became interested in establishing diplomatic and trade relations with them; however, they have such strong economic influence in the Gamma Quadrant that they are rumored to seek out only those with whom they are interested for trade, rather than being open to trade with anyone.
