Morn's Place [Deep Space 9]
By far, the largest section of the Promenade, Morn's Place is known far and wide throughout the Alpha Quadrant as /the/ place to have a drink and relax. One can either take a seat and have a drink or a meal, or take their chances at the Dabo table. Otherwise, with a little latinum and a lot of imagination, one can venture to the second level and utilize the station's only set of holosuites (booked by the hour).
There is a staircase which leads to the upper level of the bar, while the exit on the lower level leads back out to the Promenade.

"I see. I remember curiosity. Part of what brought me into Starfleet Science. I had hoped for Exploration, but ended up on border patrol.. This is my first assignment to a space station since I joined Starfleet though. Last time I was on a station, it was a civilian research facility."

The door leading to Promenade slides closed.

Zeno and Williams are talking on one side of the bar. Senka sits at a table by himself, playing a game of Kal-toh and sipping a cold tea.

"Well its a lovely place, minus the random explosions that occur." Emily slurs slightly and sips her ale, "Hey!" She waves to Pryus.

Zeno sighs. "Yeah. I know. This is the first time I've been in Morns since I was caught in the middle of one," he replies to Williams. He looks up to see who Williams is waving at and then he waves to Pryus as well.

Pryus-Talbot steps in to survey what is going on, she smiles as Emily called out her to her and waves slightly before approaching. Her head bows slightly to Senka as she looks toward him (if he happens to catch her between playing). "Good afternoon Commander, Crewman." She says as she approaches the pair.

"You were caught in the middle?" She looks him over, "And you're in one piece?"

Senka nods to Pryus. "Doctor," he murmurs as she passes. The game really isn't taking up that much of his attention, a fact obvious to an empath.

Zeno shakes head. "I was speaking figuratively, not literally. The tables here can take a beating, and I had enough time to knock mine over and crouch behind it for cover. I was still knocked out by the force of the explosion, but suffered no permanent injury."

"Hey!"Emily says motioning for a seat, "He was just telling me about how the tables here can take a beating."

Pryus-Talbot moves toward the bar and orders a sweet tea before joining the pair in the seat between both Karalos and Emily. Her brows raise slightly at hearing the tail end of the Commander's story and give Emily a nod, "Oh yes, you missed Eddie Mercury atop them the other day." She adds.

"Mmm now that sounds like a story," Emily says with a nod.

Zeno raises an eyebrow. "I read the report. I cannot say my opinion of the man has improved," he observes.

Senka packs away his game and stands. Leaving a tip on the table, he moves quietly towards the exit.

Pryus-Talbot nods once before sipping her tea, "Perhaps." She answers watching Senka pack up and head out she gives a bow of her head to him.

"Mmm opinions are overrated," Emily mumbles.

Pryus-Talbot smiles a little more, "I don't think Eddie was too off put by people’s opinions of him" She adds.

Zeno stares at Emily for a moment, then shakes his head. He takes another sip of his wine. "I don't particularly care for anyone who believes they are above the consequences of their actions, regardless of whether or not they are able to escape them."

Because his back was to Pryus and she didn't address him directly, Senka didn't see her gesture or have any reason to suppose she made one to him. He approaches the doors briskly, pausing to deal with a waylaying Ferengi server trying to press more beverages on him.

Emily tilts her head and looks at Karalos, "I hate politicians too!"

"Goodnight Senka," Kailyn calls loud enough to be heard over the drone of conversation. She looks to Karalos, "He's not above the consequences of his actions, it will catch up with him and the downfall will be horrific."

Senka nods to Pryus. "I am not retiring, Doctor. Only leaving the premises. Good afternoon." His tone is quite polite and respectable towards his colleague as he slips through the doors.

Senka leaves for Promenade - Section A.

Zeno nods. "Hopefully it will be nothing more than some shaming," he says, "Much as I do not care for him, all I would wish of him is that he would learn some humility."

Williams leaves for Promenade - Section A.

Pryus-Talbot sighs softly as Emily leaves, "How have you been getting on? Explosive stories aside?" She enquires before sipping her tea again.

"Fine. I'm here because I needed a break from logistics," Zeno replies. "It was slightly disturbed by a screaming crewman.. Apparently he had a very intense drinking experience."

Pryus-Talbot laughs softly as she lowers her glass, "You seem to attract the crazies."

Zeno rolls his eyes. "Yes." He takes a sip of wine, "You do not know the half of it."

Pryus-Talbot nudges Karalos with her shoulder gently, "Don't be so hard on yourself, you're still standing." She answers.

"Sitting at present," Zeno points out sardonically, "but point taken, nonetheless."

Pryus-Talbot laughs a little more before sipping her tea once more. "Yes, yes you are."

"I'm just a bit relieved that I've not been involved in a brawl," Zeno replies. "I could very easily end up hurting someone."

Pryus-Talbot smirks a little, "That is why I always carry a hypospray." She announces with another lift of her glass.

Zeno shakes his head. "I think I might be less dangerous without the hypospray than with it... I do at least know how to subdue someone without permanent injury.. Provided their physiology is sufficiently similar to human."

Pryus-Talbot raises her brows slightly surprised, "Really? Now that is something I'd like to see in action."

"Maybe I'll invite you to watch me spar with Lieutenant Commander Sirac at some point," Zeno replies. "Despite my stature, we're just about evenly matched, physically, so it mostly boils down to technique."

"Now that surprises me, I know you're a man of science but I never expected sparring ..." Kailyn smiles behind her glass before taking a sip.

"Despite my own interest in physics, my parents were both archaeologists, and particularly focused on Greek culture, as you might have guessed by- oh wait. Of course. Greeks are a particular subset of humans from earth, who's religious and mythological traditions became very popular. Their most popular form of unarmed defence was a form of wrestling, which my father taught me."

Pryus-Talbot looks him over, "Wrestling?"

Zeno nods. "If I get someone into a hold, they're not getting out very easily. I'm not sure if it's obvious or not, but I'm stronger on average than most humans."

Pryus-Talbot raises her brows with a grin, "I know looks can be deceiving, no offense but you're one of the few people I don't have to look up to." She sips the last of her tea.

"Ha. Don't worry, Doctor, I'm not offended, but I've lost count of how many people have made that joke," Zeno replies, a bit tiredly. "If you're curious, I was born in a high-gravity environment, which contributed to my stature and muscle mass."

"I will make sure never to try to attempt to spar with you in that case, I'm not exactly best equipped for physical altercations." Kailyn smiles as she lowers her glass to the table.

Zeno nods. "I did not think so, especially since you claimed you'd use a hyposprayer to subdue someone."

Pryus-Talbot laughs softly, "I'm made for medicine, what can I say?"

"That one can never learn enough about self-defense?" Zeno replies.

Pryus-Talbot shakes her head, "Of course not, perhaps it is time to learn when you have time."

"You want me to teach you?" Zeno replies, a little taken aback. "I wouldn't mind helping you learn, but I'm not sure how effective a teacher I would be."

Pryus-Talbot nods gently, "I'm sure you'll be effective enough for my needs, wouldn't you agree?"

Zeno shrugs. "Maybe.. The best techniques rely solely on techniques and not power.. But power can overcome technique, especially if you do the technique incorrectly."

"Either way, I am willing to learn, if you are willing to teach." She answers.

Zeno nods. "Well then, let's check out respective schedules, and we'll set a time."

Pryus-Talbot nods again, "Sure, I'm usually free about this time of the day during the week." She answers after a moment’s thought and scratching her head.

Zeno nods. "My hours sometimes vary, but I'm usually available this time of day as well.." he pauses. "And if you want to be any good at this, we'll have to have the lessons regularly. There's an old earth saying, 'Rome wasn't built in a day.' Neither is any new skill learned in a single lesson.

Pryus-Talbot laughs slightly, "I have performed yoga since I began my time at the Academy now I could be a licenced tutor, I know I will have to practice. I'm sure we will have plenty of time." She reassures him.

Zeno nods. "I suppose I should expect better sense from you than my dad got from my friends when I was a kid."

Pryus-Talbot looks down at her empty glass, "I don't know about that but I'll practice and follow instruction that much is for certain."

Zeno nods. "Good." He finishes his wine. "Well, I think I've taken a long enough break. I need to go over more logistics reports, and much as I enjoy the atmosphere here, it is a.... bit distracting."

Pryus-Talbot raises her brows with a nod, "I much prefer the coffee house." She admits.

Zeno nods and rises from his seat, paying the bartender. "The coffee house can be distracting too, but for different reasons."

Pryus-Talbot laughs softly, "I have no doubt we will be seeing each other soon."

"Right. I'm not sure whether to look forward to or dread this experience, but it will be an experience all the same."

Pryus-Talbot continues to laugh with a shake of her head, "I'm sure most would relish the thought of rolling around the floor with a female, but then you aren't most people Commander." Her laugh fades giving him a respectful bow of her head.

Zeno shrugs. "Those particular lessons aren't going to be the start," Zeno points out. "Walk before you run."

Pryus-Talbot nods again, "I guess so." She stands from her seat, "I should get back to the infirmary."

Zeno nods. "See you later."
