(1) The Councilliatory Medal of Honor

WARTIME ONLY

The Councilliatory Medal of Honor is awarded by the Chancellor in the name of the Alliance High Council to a person who, while a member of Starfleet, distinguishes himself or herself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life or her life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the Galaxy Alliance; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the Galaxy Alliance is not a belligerent party. The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades and must have involved risk of life. Incontestable proof of the performance of the service will be exacted and each recommendation for the award of this decoration will be considered on the standard of extraordinary merit.

(2) The Starfleet Cross

The Starfleet Cross is awarded to any member of Starfleet who renders service that distinguishes him/herself from their mates, performs an act of combat heroism, or displays a meritorious act at great personal risk.

(3) The Defense Distinguished Service Medal

The Defense Distinguished Service Medal (DDSM) shall only be awarded to officers of the Armed Forces of the Galaxy Alliance, whose exceptional performance of duty and contributions to Alliance security or defense have been at the highest levels. Such officers have direct and ultimate responsibility for a major activity or program that significantly influences the policies of the Alliance Government. This medal is specifically intended to recognize exceptionally distinguished service and to honor an individual's accomplishments over a sustained period.

(4) The Distinguished Service Medal

WARTIME ONLY

The Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity with Starfleet, has distinguished himself or herself by exceptionally meritorious service to the Alliance in a duty of great responsibility. The performance must be such as to merit recognition for service which is clearly exceptional. Exceptional performance of normal duty will not alone justify an award of this decoration.

(5) The Silver Star

The Silver Star is awarded to a person who, while serving in any capacity with Starfleet, is cited for gallantry in action against an enemy of the Galaxy Alliance while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force, or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the Galaxy Alliance is not a belligerent party. The required gallantry, while of a lesser degree than that required for award of the Distinguished Service Medal, must nevertheless have been performed with marked distinction.

(6) The Defense Superior Service Medal

The Defense Superior Service Medal (DSSM) shall be awarded only to members of the Armed Forces of the Galaxy Alliance who rendered superior meritorious service in a position of significant responsibility. The DSSM is specifically intended to recognize exceptionally superior service, and to honor an individual's accomplishments over a sustained period.

(7) The Legion of Merit

The Legion of Merit is awarded to all members of the Armed Forces of the Galaxy Alliance without reference to degree for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. The performance must have been such as to merit recognition of key individuals for service rendered in a clearly exceptional manner. Performance of duties normal to the grade, branch, specialty or assignment, and experience of an individual is not an adequate basis for this award. For service not related to actual war the term "key individual" applies to a narrower range of positions than in time of war and requires evidence of significant achievement. In peacetime, service should be in the nature of a special requirement or of an extremely difficult duty performed in an unprecedented and clearly exceptional manner. However, justification of the award may accrue by virtue of exceptionally meritorious service in a succession of important positions. Gold Stars will reflect the "grade" of officer; a single star recognizes the recipient to be a Legionnaire, two stars denotes an Officer, three stars denotes a Commander, and four stars denotes a Chief Commander.

(8) The Distinguished Flying Cross

WARTIME ONLY

The Distinguished Flying Cross is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity with the Armed Forces of the Starfleet, distinguishes him or herself by heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in space flight (fightercraft-only). The performance of the act of heroism must be evidenced by voluntary action above and beyond the call of duty. The extraordinary achievement must have resulted in an accomplishment so exceptional and outstanding as to clearly set the individual apart from his or her comrades or from other persons in similar circumstances. Awards will be made only to recognize single acts of heroism or extraordinary achievement and will not be made in recognition of sustained operational activities against an armed enemy.

(9) The Fleet and Marine Corps Medal

The Fleet and Marine Corps Medal may be awarded to service members who, while serving in any capacity with the Fleet or Marine Corps, distinguish themselves by heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy. For acts of lifesaving, or attempted lifesaving, it is required that the action be performed at the risk of one's own life.

(10) The Bronze Star

The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the military of the Galaxy Alliance, distinguished himself or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in space flight, while engaged in an action against an enemy of the Alliance; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the Alliance is not a belligerent party.

(11) The Medal of Valor

The Medal of Valor is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the military of the Galaxy Alliance, distinguished themselves by conspicuous bravery or heroism above and beyond the normal demands of Starfleet service, while facing imminent peril.

(12) The Legion of Honor

The Legion of Honor is awarded to any citizen of the Galaxy Alliance, in military or civil service, who distinguished him or herself by conspicuous gallantry in time of conflict against an enemy of the Alliance. This award is designated appropriately with the gold stars equivalent to the legion's grade. A single gold star denotes a Knight in the Legion, two gold stars denotes an Officer, three gold stars denotes a Knight Commander, four gold stars denotes a Grand Officer, and five gold stars denotes a Grand Commander.

(13) The Nebula Star

The Nebula Star is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the military of the Galaxy Alliance, distinguished themselves by gallantry and intrepidity in action, but not of a nature to justify the award of the Bronze Star.

(14) The Golden Starburst

The Golden Starburst is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the military of the Galaxy Alliance, distinguished themselves with extraordinary heroism while engaged in actions against a foreign enemy or other menacing force threatening the Alliance. The act or acts of heroism must have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from his or her comrades.

(15) The Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry

The Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry is awarded to any member of Starfleet, for a single act of conspicuous gallantry above and beyond the normal demands of Starfleet service.

(16) The Purple Heart

The Purple Heart is awarded to members of Starfleet, who are wounded by an instrument of war in the hands of the enemy. This is a combat-specific decoration.

(17) The Silver Palm

The Silver Palm is awarded to any citizen of the Galaxy Alliance, in military or civil service, who distinguished him or herself by conspicuous bravery or courage at great personal risk, to the peacekeeping efforts of the Alliance. This medal recognizes single acts in the course of bringing about a nonviolent resolution to violent situation.

(18) The Defense Meritorious Service Medal

The Defense Meritorious Service Medal (DMSM) shall only be awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the Galaxy Alliance who distinguished themselves by noncombat meritorious achievement or service. The DMSM is specifically intended to recognize exceptionally meritorious service performance and to honor an individual's accomplishments over a sustained period.

(19) The Meritorious Service Medal

The Meritorious Service Medal is awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the Galaxy Alliance who distinguished themselves by outstanding noncombat meritorious achievement or service to the Alliance. Normally, the acts or services rendered must be comparable to that required for the Legion of Merit but in a duty of lesser though considerable responsibility.

(20) The Space Medal

The Space Medal is awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the Galaxy Alliance, who have served a period of more than two years aboard a spaceborne posting (starship or starbase). The period in question may or may not be consecutive. Multiple instances of this award are not allowed.

(21) The Alliance Intelligence Medal of Achievement

The Alliance Intelligence Medal of Achievement is awarded to any citizen of the Galaxy Alliance, affiliated with an official organization of intelligence gathering duties (AIA, SFI), who distinguish themselves with specific performance in the normal course of their mission with great success.

(22) The Joint Service Medal of Achievement

The Joint Service Medal of Achievement (JSMA) shall be awarded only to members of the Armed Forces of the Galaxy Alliance below the grade of O-6 who distinguished themselves by outstanding performance of duty and meritorious achievement.

(23) The Combat Action Ribbon

(24) The Distinguished Cadet Medal

(25) The Starfleet Unit Commendation Ribbon

The Starfleet Unit Commendation Ribbon (aka "C Ribbon") is awarded to any member of a Starfleet designated unit, who is so recognized by Starfleet Command or the Ministry of Defense.

(26) The Starfleet Unit Excellence Ribbon

The Starfleet Unit Excellence Ribbon (aka "E Ribbon") is awarded to any member of a Starfleet designated unit, who is so recognized by Starfleet Command or the Ministry of Defense.

(27) The Good Conduct Medal
