Quarters A101 [Deep Space 9]
Simple appointments dress these quarters, austere yet comfortable enough for a traveler's extended stay. The main room and living quarters is furnished with a sectional sofa of icy silver with a matching recliner, and a glass coffee table nestled within. To the right is a small eating alcove with table and chairs and a food replicator. In the back left corner is a work desk with a small computer terminal. To the left a door leads into the sleeping quarters where a comfortable queen-sized bed and sonic shower reside.

[Commplant] Contacting Lieutenant Senka...
[Commplant] Lieutenant Senka is opening the channel.
[Commplant] Channel now open. Linked to Lieutenant Senka.

[Commplant] Senka says, "Senka here."

Pryus-Talbot grimaces in pain, "Senka, I think something is wrong." She gasps.

[Commplant] Senka says, "Where are you?"
[Commplant] Desktop Terminal beeps and comes to life.

Pryus-Talbot moans and sniffles at the excruciating cramps.

[Commplant] Senka says, "Stand by."

A shimmering swirl of color engulfs Pryus-Talbot.
Transporter Energy Stream
Swirls of energy whip around your deconstructed body. Shimmering lumination dances about your form uncontrollably, dazzling every sense.

General Ward - Station Infirmary [Deep Space 9]
The entrance to this room is set with two different walkways around the top of this semi-hexigonal compartment. Several biobeds face inwardly, as rays of a sun, towards a central laboratory table. Monitors also are sprinkled about this room for access to lifesigns and patient information.

[Commplant] Communication was terminated by Lieutenant Senka.

Senka arrives from Station Infirmary.
The door leading to Infirmary slides closed.

Senka begins running a series of scans.

Pryus-Talbot grimaces and tries not to double over with the pain, she tries to calm her short sharp breaths to more calm ones but she struggles. "What is it?"

Senka's expression remains calm and neutral. "It appears that your body is rejecting the fetus. I am detecting acute hormonal imbalances and significantly depressed levels of certain vitamins. ... Did anything traumatic happen to you aboard Spacedock? When did you begin experiencing the onset of symptoms?"

Pryus-Talbot winces as her body writhes slightly her hands clench her swell, "What? I'm miscarrying?" She manages to say not able to concentrate on anything else. Nothing traumatic, a slight bump with M'hrr was surely not enough to cause this. "It's dying ... I'm killing it."

Reaching for a hypo, Senka injects you. "This is a muscle relaxant. I am going to scan the fetus." He activates a subsidiary set of sensors.

Pryus-Talbot lays back a look of pain and disgust on her face, she was losing everything.

Senka examines the fetal monitoring sensors. "I do not believe a mere collision could have caused this. Indicators suggest a radical alteration in the hormonal and biochemical symbiosis between yourself and the fetus. I believe this was a sudden onset, and if you were not in an infirmary at the time of onset ..." He leaves that one unfinished, injecting you with a series of hormone boosters.

Pryus-Talbot follows his line of thought and frowns. "What does this mean?" She says between short gaspy breaths.

Senka doesn't answer right away. "Fetal neural indicators flat lining," a nurse reports. "Acknowledged. Stand by for fetal neural stimulation."

Pryus-Talbot closes her eyes and beings to cry quietly and softly, she had tried so hard. Not again, it was happening again.

Senka picks up on the thought. "You have had pregnancy difficulties before," he asks? TO the nurse, "Initiate neurostatic pulse, 2 milijules. ... Mark."

"I can't lose anymore, it can't happen again." Kailyn cries out she doesn't confirm but her mind is brought back to her memories of looking over the corpse of her husband.

"No effect," the nurse reports. "Again," Senka orders. After three additional neurostatic pulses, senka signals a halt. The fetus's vitals have flatlined, and Senka regards the readings. "I was unable to revive your infant, Lieutenant," he reports somberly.

Pryus-Talbot sobs uncontrollably, her hands cover her face. "No, no." Is barely audible through her tears, "Please no more." She had lost everything, there was nothing left for her. An empty feeling where there was once contentment.

Senka administers a mild sedative. To the nurse, "Initiate medical transport." You may feel a tingling in your abdomen as the baby and the surrounding fetal tissue are beamed away.

Pryus-Talbot continues to cry in a state of shock and horror at her own body's toxicity to the unborn child, "Take it out, I want it all gone. This is to never happen again." She cries hysterically, she felt sick at the idea at what she had just experienced.

"It is done," Senka murmurs. "Lieutenant, I am going to administer a sedative that will enable you to sleep. I would like you to remain here overnight."

"Never again." She continues to with her hands covering her eyes.

Senka injects you with the sedative. "Sleep now, Lieutenant." You sense compassion beneath his logical controls.

Pryus-Talbot's words fade as she is sedated, her hands slide from her face still wet with her tears.

Senka leaves for Station Infirmary.

Time passes

General Ward - Station Infirmary [Deep Space 9]
The entrance to this room is set with two different walkways around the top of this semi-hexigonal compartment. Several biobeds face inwardly, as rays of a sun, towards a central laboratory table. Monitors also are sprinkled about this room for access to lifesigns and patient information.

You begin to feel queasy and lightheaded.

You wake up.

Pryus-Talbot leans over the side of the biobed and vomits.

Pryus-Talbot says, "Computer, what is the location of Lieutenant Senka?"

A smooth British-accented male voice says "Lieutenant Senka is located in Duty Office - Station Infirmary."

Pryus-Talbot leans over and wretches again.

Pryus-Talbot sits up and holds her head still feeling sick she covers her mouth.

The door leading to Infirmary slides open.

Senka arrives from Station Infirmary.

The door leading to Infirmary slides closed.

Pryus-Talbot rubs her head, her eyes are red already after realising where she is.

You continue to feel lightheaded.

Senka examines your readings. "How are you feeling presently, Lieutenant?"

Pryus-Talbot swallows softly and shakes her head gently, "Like I wish I was gone."

Senka works over you, injecting various hypos as he stabilizes your hormone levels following the miscarriage. "I have submitted a report to the captain and Major Ava, quite confidentially. You remain on leave, and Major Ava will undoubtedly seek to sounsel with you."

Pryus-Talbot lays on Biobed1.

Pryus-Talbot nods gently and rubs her eyes leaving her hands there. "I- I- " She starts but is unable to finish.

Senka uses the built-in autosuture from Biobed1 on Pryus-Talbot.

Senka works over you, listening. You may sense that his mind is receptive.

Pryus-Talbot feels hopeless and dead inside, there is nothing left for her and she doesn't know what to do. A thin stream of tears roll down the side of her face and into her hair.

Senka continues to work over you. "I grieve with thee," he offers. As with the last time he said it, he says it in Old Betazoid rather than in the Vulcan in which the phrase originates.

His words did little to comfort her, she pushed her palms into the sockets of her eyes. "I can't go on like this."

"What do you wish to do?" He gives you a final injection and steps back.

Pryus-Talbot moves her hands away from her eyes, "I can't go through that again, I- I- can't loosed anything else." Her words are dejected and tired, is she referring to just the stillbirth or life in general. Not even she's sure about that.

Folding his hands behind his back, Senka considers you. "Your losses have been extensive by most measurements. I believe," he goes on, "that all you can do is to recover and move on." His voice is quiet, his tone calm. He believes he's telling you something you may already know, but accepts that you may need to hear it.

Pryus-Talbot attempts to sit up and sways a little unless she is restrained, "I- I- need to resign, and get away- get away from it all. All of it." She wretches again at the thought of everything she's lost.

Senka eases you back on the bed. "Do not attempt to move for the present."

"I can't do this." Kailyn continues.

Senka's hand moves to a hypo as he considers it.

Pryus-Talbot moves her hands back to her eyes, "Their all gone."

Senka simply continues to listen.

"They've left me, alone." Kailyn rambles in her quiet sniffly tone, "There's nothing there."

Senka nods. "As a broadcast telepath, I am aware that you experience their loss more keenly than another might."

"I don't know what to do without them, I had a blanket. It was for the baby." Kailyn cries quietly blaming herself.

Senka administers a mild sedative.

Pryus-Talbot continues to talk to herself before gradually falling asleep.

You go to sleep.

Time passes

Pryus-Talbot looks around trying to focus.

Senka looks over your readings a final time. "I am releasing you, Lieutenant. You should probably return to your quarters or to anywhere you care to relax."

Pryus-Talbot nods gently and finally sits up, pulling her knees to her chest, "What was it?" She asks quietly, feeling she should at least know its sex before she attempted to forget.

Senka says, "It was female, Lieutenant.""

Pryus-Talbot nods gently and wipes her eyes whilst sniff, "Is there anything I should be aware of?" She asks knowing the answer but deciding it is probably best to ask verbally.

Senka shakes his head. "No. I have no further information to give you. You are otherwise in excellent physical health. You may go." You may sense a wish that there was more Senka could have done for you.
