Station Infirmary [Deep Space 9]
Being the sole medical facility on the station, the Infirmary was designed to accomodate a great many patients. Spacious and at least three compartments wides, the infirmary has a laboratory, examination and recovery room, and a surgery room. The lab is what most people see when they enter, and where the medical officer on duty is most likely to be perched, ready for any medical emergency.

Pryus-Talbot almost runs into the infirmary, she didn't really know why she came but she needed to tell someone, "Senka?" She calls as she approaches the middle of the room, her voice give concern but not that of an emergency.

The door leading to Duty Office slides open.
Senka arrives from Duty Office - Station Infirmary.
The door leading to Duty Office slides closed.

Senka enters the main ward. His expression is unreadable and his mental shielding comes up as he passes into the main room of the infirmary. "Are you well," he asks?

Pryus-Talbot nods, "Yes, yes. I'm fine. I need access to Ben's last psychological evaluation." She answers quickly.

Senka considers that request. "I am uncertain who performed his last psych eval, Doctor. My last 3 examinations were physical medicals. Unless you are referring to something else?"

Pryus-Talbot runs her hand over her face thinking, "It might have been Riley, is there nothing on record?" She asks seeming a little erratic.

Senka considers you. You can sense his mind analyzing everything he knows about Betazoid psychology and body movement as it indicates mental state. ... Actually, what he knows on those subjects is probably more than you will ever suspect. What he says is, "You are quite agitated. I would like to ask why."

"Tout comprendre, c'est tout pardonner." Kailyn replies to him, "That's what he said to me, it means 'If you are aware of all the circumstances, you will forgive everything.'"

"An illogical, if potentially revealing statement," Senka replies after a beat. "Do you believe he was attempting to communicate to you that external circumstances were not what they seemed?"

Pryus-Talbot shrugs her shoulders as she paces slight, "I don't know, I don't know."

"Please sit down, Doctor," Senka says gently, pointing to a chair in the main ward.

Pryus-Talbot takes a step back from Senka and puts her hands out toward him as if shying away, "I'm fine. I just can't think."

"Sit down, please." It's not a request anymore, though it's still put gently.

"None it makes sense. Why didn't I remember this before?" She says.

Senka says, "Explain."

Senka says, "You are only now remembering the statement you quoted to me? Is that what you are referring to?"

Pryus-Talbot nods gently still standing and now with her eyes closed, "Why would he say that? This was before the physical, I spoke to him because Adam was concerned and I didn't pick up on it." She explains, "This is all my fault ..." Giellun had calmed her to a point until her conversation with Essa. Her hands raised to her head and fingers entwined in her hair.

You sense that Senka thinks it odd that you refer to Cross by first name, but he dismisses it considering your mental state. He gathers his thoughts, attempting to inject some logic into the conversation. Steepling his fingers, he says, "I can speak with Commander Kame aboard Excalibur who is now that ship's CMO. I do not doubt that she can provide me with any and all records pertaining to your husband including psych evals done by Commander Riley. However, I am not persuaded that that would be an effective avenue of investigation. His medical records were transfered here when he was, and I saw nothing aberrant in them. Logic suggests that if you desire to explore possible meanings of his comment further, you may wish to examine any personal logs he may have kept."

Pryus-Talbot opens her eyes and shakes her head, "There are no records, there is nothing." She answers.

Senka nods. "Then," he says gently, "it is possible that your question is unanswerable." A beat. "I will contact Kame to discover whether there is anything that Commander Riley failed to pass along to me prior to her assuming her post." He doesn't consider it likely, but he will do it. "You may also wish to ask engineering to look for traces of hidden or deleted logs."

Pryus-Talbot closes her eyes and nods.

Senka nods. "I will advise you if I receive anything." Pulling out the customary hypo, he says, "it is also time for your vitamin injection." He administers that while you're here.

Pryus-Talbot twitches at the hypospray her head was a whirr again, "Why would he do this," She says quietly.

Senka nods. "A valid question, and one I cannot answer," he says mildly.

Pryus-Talbot shakes her head and lowers her hands.

Senka says, "You can proceed with the avenues of investigation I suggested, but logically, you will need to accept that your questions may be unanswerable. There simply may not be the data to answer them. That is regrettable."

Pryus-Talbot continues to shake her head.

Senka looks at you. He's not sure what else he can say to help you, and he waits patiently.

"I- I- will speak to Giellun." She answers distractedly as she looks at Senka.

Senka says, "For now, you should rest. You are highly agitated. Perhaps a sedative ..." He reaches for a hypo."

Pryus-Talbot shakes her head again and takes another step back, "I'm fine."

Senka nods. "In that case, is there anything else I can do for you?"

Pryus-Talbot shakes her head, "No, I will speak to Giellun."

Senka nods. "Very well," he says, turning away towards a piece of equipment. "I will inform you if I receive anything of relevance."
